The art of Carl J. Christensen captures the echoes and essences of life found in well-worn buildings and weathered landscapes. His work evokes memories of eras past and the immediate desire to pack a bag, jump in the car and yell, "Road Trip!" Carl's faith and his connection to people and place motivate and infuse his work. His keen eye for beauty captures the sweeping majesty of the southwest (or just nature if you want to go bigger), the architectural heritage of cities and towns, and the small details of life, time and memory.

Professionally trained as an architect, Carl uses his love of design and detail to add distinctive elements to his art. His pen and ink watercolor wash technique best exemplifies his style, but he uses pastels to capture the beauty and soft color of landscapes.
